Eve Belle - A Day In The Life!

Good morning everyone! Today I thought I'd share some pics in a funny way. I want to show you a day in the life of our lovely little Eve Belle!

So, here we go! I'll let Eve Belle take it from here!

-----------------

"Good morning. I'm sleepy. Play with me."

"I like playing with my toys."

"Breakfast is my favorite."

"I shove my face all the way to the bottom of my bowl every time I eat."

"I love sleeping more on blankets and stuff during the day."

"But heaven help  me when I get ahold of one of Mom's shoes! These flats are my favorite."

"Nom."

"I love to go outside, but sometimes I run through puddles or mud. Then I get a bath. Yuck."

"If I'm lucky, Daddy will put my barrette in."

"I actually like my barrette a lot."

"When I get bored, I start digging on and pushing around my bed."

"Then I go back to trying to take Mom's shoes off her.
She needs to get new ones and let me have these."

"Dad has caught me watching tv a few times. I like the tv."

"Then, of course, I love to curl up and sleep some more."

Well, I hope you enjoyed a day in the life of our little Eve Belle!

XOXO,
Jessie

A Championship Day!!!!!

In California, our wonderful Thursday morning kicked off with a wonderful breakfast at Randy's Donuts, and then we headed down to spend an hour at Santa Monica Pier. Brett and I both really wanted to see it, so we made it down there before we headed to the Rose Bowl grounds for the BCS National Championship game.

We had so much fun. Can you tell?

The pier was one of my favorite things we got to do. It was a beautiful - although slightly chilly - morning down by the water. Brett had never seen the Pacific Ocean before, so that made it even more cool. :-)

This is my favorite picture of me. Good hair moment, haha.

This crazy little pelican was just sleeping away on the pier. I thought it was pretty darn cute.

Our Thursday afternoon and evening was definitely one for the ages! We headed out to Pasadena after our wonderful morning of donuts and a visit to Santa Monica Pier.

I kept getting more and more excited, even though traffic was rather crazy all the way to the Rose Bowl grounds! Then, it was so hard to believe we were THERE!!!! We got to the site at about 12:30 that afternoon, five hours before kick-off.

Brett and I had gotten tickets to the ESPN National Championship Tailgate party, and I was so glad we did! Switchfoot and the Goo Goo Dolls performed. Switchfoot is an all-time favorite of mine. A few of my big district youth retreats in high school featured them playing. It was priceless to see them again. I need to get their new album soon....

Our perch for the afternoon was right by this beauty. Isn't it pretty? I'm so glad it'll be right at home in Tuscaloosa where I can go visit it sometime!

It was unreal to be inside the stadium! I loved the tag line they put with the championship: Passion. Strength. Tradition. Honor. That's what college sports - and honestly, a lot of life - should be about!

One of the other cool parts was seeing Audra McDonald of Private Practice sing "America the Beautiful" during the pregame show. She has one amazing voice!

The parachute team was awesome too. A few of my pictures of them even turned out!

Josh Groban sang the national anthem. It was amazing! I'm a huge fan of his. A friend sang "You Raise Me Up" during our wedding ceremony. I just LOVE that man's voice! So much talent.

The game drove me a little crazy. We started slow, steamrolled over Texas for a little bit, then fell apart again. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, I was a nervous wreck. I thought our championship hopes were about to go down the drain, but our boys pulled it out, and it was amazing to celebrate a national championship as it happened in Pasadena!

I loved every minute of our trip - all 46 hours of it.
Hope you've enjoyed the posts on our trip!

XOXO,
Jessie

Los Angeles fun...

Well, I'll warn you. I can't post about all 46 hours we spent in Los Angeles - and PASADENA - in one post, but this is the first day for you.

We had so much fun. We packed up the car, drove to Atlanta, dropped Eve off with my in-laws, and caught a 5:30 a.m. flight to LAX the next morning.

Yeah, the car was PACKED, but mainly with my baby girl's stuff.

(Yes, she's sitting on my purse in the trunk in the picture)

We touched down at LAX, got our rental car, and headed down to the Rodeo Drive area for lunch and cupcakes. We ate yummy food at Baja Fresh. I'd never been before.

I got a picture on Rodeo Drive. We didn't have the time (or money) to window shop, so I was totally okay with skipping this traditional part of a trip to LA.

I did, however, demand time to visit SPRINKLES!!! I have heard so much about these yummy cupcakes and I was dying to try one - or 4 - for myself!

Don't they just look heavenly? I promise, they were. We had Roll Tide Red Velvet, Strawberry, Chocolate Marshmallow, and Dark Chocolate.

The Roll Tide Red Velvet (below) had to be lucky, considering our win the next day. Brett loved the strawberry and chocolate marshmallow. Dark chocolate was definitely in my top 2.

After our Sprinkles run, we headed up to a high vantage point to get some fun pictures of us with the Hollywood sign. The red holly berries just made it look that much more beautiful, don't you think?

Our grand finale to the day was a drive to Newport Beach to eat at Villa Nova. A friend got us a reservation with a great table, and told them it was our anniversary celebration, which resulted in some amazing chocolate souffles at the end of our meal!

Brett and I both had pasta, the restaurant's specialty. They make their own pasta. Simply amazing!

I just love these pictures of us. I wore my new dress that Brett gave me for Christmas from Ann Taylor LOFT. Yay. And you can't tell JUST how tired we are, can you? We were up for 22 straight hours that day. So crazy.

More soon. (And, ROLL TIDE, by the way!)

XOXO,
Jessie

Meet our sweet Eve (Eve-ah) Belle! She's a 15 week old Lhasa Apso puppy. We love her lots and are so glad to have her at home! She's a crazy and rambunctious puppy, that's for sure. Which we love! :-)

She loves her pink fleece jacket.

And posing for the camera.

More soon! She's so much fun,
